The 4th AGM was held on June 13-14, 2001, im Antalya, Turkey. The central topic was-«Global Water Resources». Over 250 delegates and guests from 23 OSCE states gathered to take part in the AGM. The 9th President of Turkey, Mr. Suleiman Demirel, the outstanding German, Turkish and Russian water experts participated in the forum. The AGM discussed the political, economic and social aspects of the topic and formulated recommendations to the governments pf the OSCE member-states in terms of approaches and solutions in the field of water supply and water preservation. At the AGM Mr. Vyakhirev made a statement on his retirement and on his successor, Chairman of Gazprom, Dr. Miller, who had to take over and to chair the EBC till his election at the next AGM. (according to the EBC Charter the election of the president takes place every two years).
