The 24th Annual General Meeting was organized in a hybrid format for the first time in the Congress’s history. The attendees either took part in the events of the General Meeting in studios in St. Petersburg and Singapore or watched the live broadcasting online.
Over 500 IBC members and invited guests joined the meetings of the IBC Working Committees held on 14-16 September as well as the AGM Plenary session and the IBC international conference dedicated to “Challenges and Opportunities of Growing Energy Markets in Asia” held on 17 September 2021.
In his welcome address to the participants of the 24th AGM the Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom and IBC President Dr. A. Miller noted that despite the ongoing pandemic, the Congress had managed to gather a wide audience representing 25 countries.
Participants of the 24th Annual General Meeting discussed the IBC activities in 2021, listened to the reports of the IBC Board of Executive Directors and chairmen of eight Working Committees of the Congress. The trends in the global economy during the pandemic, digitalization issues and climate goals on agenda of the IBC member-companies remained in focus of meetings’ discussions of the Working Committees in 2020-2021.
The participants of the General Meeting were also informed about the absentee voting results on the agenda items of the 44th Presiding Committee meeting and the 24th Annual General Meeting.
In course of the voting, among other issues, the 24th AGM has elected Dr. B. Frei, Executive Vice president Industrial Automation, Schneider Electric Industries SAS as Chairlady of the “Information and Communication” Working Committee upon resignation of Mr. L. Mukhamedov, Schneider Electric Industries SAS from his position.
Speakers from Russia, Germany, France, Singapore, China, and Malaysia participated in the panel discussion and addressed promising development of Asian energy markets.
