For the first time since IBC founding conference in 1997, Bonn welcomed guests and participants of IBC Annual General Meeting. Hosted by Linde AG, Uniper SE and Wintershall Dea GmbH the flagship event gathered representatives of 88 IBC member-companies and was dedicated to “Natural Gas – Paving the Way to Ecological Economy”. During the opening ceremony the guest of honor, ex-Minister for Foreign Affairs and ex-Vice Chancellor of Germany, Mr. Sigmar Gabriel emphasized that over the past 10 years Europe has successfully liberalized its gas market
Upon the resignation of Dr. Klaus Schaefer, Uniper SE, from his position as IBC Vise President, the AGM elected Dr. Rainer Seele, OMV Aktiengesellschaft as his successor. The forum has also approved the decision of IBC Presidium to create a new position of Chairman of IBC Board of Executives Directors and elected Dr. Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom Export LLC to hold this position. New members of IBC Presidium and Board of Executives Directors have been also elected during the meeting.
